PROJECT M3 (Man Made Man)
Man-made-man or “Project M3” is a visual representation of the intersection between augmentation, anatomy, and autonomy. Examining how continued augmentation to one’s physical anatomy affects their understanding of intrinsic autonomy. Our modern technology allows for physical augmentations that completely reconstruct one’s identity. Begging to ask if everyone can become anyone, were we ever truly in possession of an intrinsic autonomy?
Was I meant to be the fateful way I am now from the very beginning?
Or am I a messy twisted amalgamation of my experiences?

Sandy
Bodice and skirt ensemble, consisting of 15+ individually hand sewn origami fortune tellers. I created this as an homage to my early childhood as origami had been my first introduction to the arts. In elementary school I would fold an assortment of traditional and original origami forms to sell and trade kids for their snacks during lunch. I created ‘Sandy’ to remind myself to never lose my childish spirit and to hold onto the things that bring me childlike joy and wonder.

Bare (mens)
I wanted to explore the idea of being naked, exposed, and bare without the use of sheer textiles. Exploring how to encapsulate this feeling of vulnerability and being exposed without using nudity, instead opting for textiles and colors that share skin-like qualities along with textiles that traditionally exist close to the skin.

Everything is… green?
I created this look with a “green screen-green” textile to be worn and superimposed in front of a green screen edited backdrop to explore the relationship between an individuals clothing choices and their environment. With this work I am exploring how the garments we wear inform ourselves and others about the environments we may either originate from or currently reside in.

BeeDSM, meet BirdDSM
I created this work with the idea of sexual exploration in mind. As youth we are presented the idea of sex as something taboo yet the outcome of reproduction, babies, are presented as the embodiment of pure innocence. If you were to announce that you and your partner were having sex every night it would create discomfort and be seen as oversharing. But to say you and your partner are “trying for a baby” instead of disgust you are met with congratulations and well wishes. This relationship between “baby making” versus “sex” intrigue me since they are essentially the same thing.
